THE JOURNEY

That the stars might shine
At the end of that day
When the child Jesus was born
From the womb of the Virgin Mary
The great day arrived
It was when the star guided
The three kings on the journey
To the meeting with the Lord
The very great distance
Was repaid with joy
In the moment they beheld
Joseph, Jesus and Mary
On their knees they adored
The child King of the Jews
The kings were blessed
With the divine blessing of God
The gold symbolizing
Royalty; the myrrh, the incense, purity
Were gifts of the kings
To the great King of Nature
