SÃO JOÃO

No Jordão de águas mansas

Uma criança foi batizada

Quem nasceu de Maria Isabel

Caminho de paz é sua estrada

No caminho de paz

Para a vida de Deus

Seremos feliz na jornada

Mostrando ao mundo a sua luz

Novo clarão do Sol

Nos trouxe o brilho da cruz

São João é seu nome

Que herdou de Deus a luz

Que herdou de Deus a luz

No encontro do Jordão

Meu mestre a Vós eu peço

Tirai-me da escuridão

Quatro linhas e quatro letras

Se encerram nesta luz

São Pedro e o rei Salomão

São João e meu Jesus

In the Jordan of gentle waters

A child was baptized

Born of Maria Isabel

The way of peace is his road

On the way of peace

Toward the life of God

We shall be happy on the journey

Showing the world his light

A new brightness of the Sun

Brought us the radiance of the cross

Saint John is his name

Who inherited the light from God

Who inherited the light from God

At the meeting of the Jordan

My Mestre, of You I ask

Take me out of the darkness

Four lines and four letters

Are enclosed in this light

Saint Peter and King Solomon

Saint John and my Jesus
