PASSARINHO VERDE

Passarinho verde

Canta na floresta

É o mistério sagrado

Que se manifesta

É do rei Oxossi

A manifestação

Que ilumina as trevas

Com o coração

São Sebastião

Meu guerreiro sem lança

O mistério do vosso amor

É a minha esperança

Meu guerreiro santo

Eu venho vos louvar

Dentro do meu rosário

E também vos rogar

Dai-me a vossa fé

Vosso amor e firmeza

Para eu alcançar

A vossa fortaleza

Dai-me a vossa luz

Do conhecimento

Para eu livrar os seres

Do escurecimento

Oh! Meu rei Oxossi

Da folha de ouro

Vós sois rei dos caboclos

Vós sois meu tesouro

Little green bird

Sings in the forest

It is the sacred mystery

That manifests itself

It is of King Oxossi

The manifestation

That illuminates the darkness

With the heart

São Sebastião

My warrior without a lance

The mystery of Your love

Is my hope

My holy warrior

I come to praise You

Within my rosary

And also to pray to You

Give me Your faith

Your love and steadfastness

So that I may reach

Your stronghold

Give me Your light

Of knowledge

So that I may free the beings

From the darkening

Oh! My King Oxossi

Of the golden leaf

You are king of the Caboclos

You are my treasure
