The White Table
Described in ICEFLU's own account as "the table for esoteric and psychic studies," the White Table work was designed to develop members' psychic understanding and knowledge of the tradition's various spiritual lines and entities, to support ongoing spiritual and esoteric study, and to serve as groundwork for ecumenical work alongside other spiritual traditions.
Danced hinário works and the festivals
Most of the Santo Daime's danced hinário works are held during the summer and winter festivals, timed to the solstices. These works commonly draw on the hinários of the tradition's spiritual leaders — among them O Cruzeiro (Mestre Irineu), O Justiceiro (Padrinho Sebastião), and O Cruzeirinho (Padrinho Alfredo) — and are generally preceded by a full terço, or, for shorter hinários, by the traditional nine prayers and a Hail Holy Queen. Each closes with a further round of prayer.
Within these works, members are organized into groups by hinário "line," each with an assigned role, and guardians are designated to assist a man or woman who needs support during the work, in keeping with the same separation of men and women observed elsewhere in the ritual.
The Confession hymn
By Mestre Irineu's own instruction, hymn 17 of the hinário O Cruzeiro — known as the Confession hymn — is treated differently from the rest of the hinário: it is sung three times slowly, without instruments, each fardado holding a lit candle. Tradition restricts it to three occasions on the calendar — the feast of St. John (June 23), the Immaculate Conception (December 7), and the Day of Kings (January 6) — though some churches, at a leader's discretion, also sing it on other dates when O Cruzeiro is performed, as a way of easing tension within the community.
