A shared calendar across centers
The works of the Santo Daime doctrine are scheduled according to an official calendar that marks the year's holy days and festejos (festival works). Centers and churches in Brazil and abroad are expected to observe these same dates, which the tradition understands as occasions when communities around the world join in a shared current of positive energy.
Recurring dates through the year
Several fixed dates carry the singing of particular hinários. The hinário received by Mestre Irineu is sung on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception (December 7), at Christmas, on the Day of Kings (January 6), and on the feast of St. John (June 23). The hinário of Padrinho Sebastião is sung on Mestre Irineu's birthday (December 15), on the feast of St. Sebastian (January 19), and on Madrinha Rita's birthday (June 25), among other occasions. The hinário of Padrinho Alfredo is sung on his birthday (January 8), on the feast of St. Joseph (March 18), on the feast of St. Peter (June 28), and on New Year's Eve (December 31).
Other observances on the calendar, described elsewhere on this site, include the Concentration works held on the 15th and 30th of each month, the monthly Santa Missa, and the works of All Souls' Day at the start of November.
