Prayers

Oração

Oração — simply "prayer" in Portuguese — is a short prayer of thanksgiving recited within Santo Daime works, giving thanks for a series of divine qualities said to fill the space.

A Prayer of Gratitude

Rather than asking for something, the prayer repeats a structure of thanks, addressing God directly for the space being filled with the divine presence, and for qualities including truth, health, prosperity, peace, wisdom, joy, and love. This gratitude-centered structure sets it apart from more petitionary prayers such as the Prece de Cáritas.

Shared Language with Other Consecration Prayers

Its closing lines echo the same four qualities — harmony, love, truth, and justice — found in the Chave de Harmonia (Key of Harmony) and the Consagração do Apresento (Consecration of the Space), suggesting these short prayers were composed as a related set within the tradition's devotional life.
