SANTA MARIA FOI QUEM ME CHAMOU

Santa Maria foi quem me chamou

E convidou-me a obedecer

Para eu ver a sua luz

E conhecer o Vosso poder

Foi aí que eu me firmei

Foi aí que eu enxerguei

Meu São João, meu São João

Na Vossa glória e no Vosso poder

Ele me disse: — Tu segue em frente

Ele me disse: — Preste atenção

Que esta luz sempre reinará

Na santa casa de São João

Cada cabeça tem a sua justiça

Cada justiça traz sua razão

Cada flor traz o seu perfume

E cada amor tem o seu coração

Eu agradeço a meu senhor Jesus

Eu agradeço a minha mãe

Eu agradeço a meu São João

Eu agradeço a todos meus irmãos

Santa Maria was the one who called me

And invited me to obey

That I might see Your light

And come to know Your power

It was then that I steadied myself

It was then that I saw clearly

My São João, my São João

In Your glory and in Your power

He said to me: — You go forward

He said to me: — Pay attention

That this light shall always reign

In the holy house of São João

Each head has its own justice

Each justice brings its own reason

Each flower carries its own perfume

And each love has its own heart

I give thanks to my lord Jesus

I give thanks to my Mother

I give thanks to my São João

I give thanks to all my brothers
