COROA DE BAMBURÁ

Eu uso na cabeça um lindo chapéu de palha

Eu tenho uma bela coroa de bamburá

Ora sou rei da aldeia, ora sou um escravo

Eu irradio a força aqui dentro do congá

Eu trouxe a verdade dentro da minha missão

Minha terra natal é a terra do Maranhão

Eu recebi a força da Santa virgem Maria

A nossa virgem Santa, Senhora da Conceição

Trabalho na floresta e trabalho no terreiro

Trabalho pela cura, também dentro do salão

Na força de Jesus e do meu S. João Batista

E na sabedoria do grande rei Salomão

On my head I wear a lovely straw hat

I have a beautiful crown of bamburá

Sometimes I am king of the village, sometimes I am a slave

I radiate the force here inside the congá

I brought the truth within my mission

My native land is the land of Maranhão

I received the force of the Holy Virgin Maria

Our Holy virgin, Senhora da Conceição

I work in the forest and I work in the terreiro

I work for healing, also inside the hall

In the force of Jesus and of my São João Batista

And in the wisdom of the great king Salomão
