DEUSES AFRICANOS
AFRICAN GODS
- Enio
Uma estrela brilhante iluminou a África
Resplandecendo a força dos orixás
Um luminoso rastro levou ao espaço
Os orixás para o universo SARAVÁ
Berço dos deuses negros tremeu nas entranhas
Tremeu a Terra e estremeceu o mar
Impulsionando as divindades africanas
Para descer até o povo IURUBÁ
Nosso Pai Oxalá à frente do cortejo
Jorrou a luz de Olorum, OBATALÁ
Tornou brilhante com sua luz florescente
O mar de IÊ-IÊ-IÊ - YEMANJÁ
Desceu Oxumaré sobre seu arco-íris
Ligando a Terra ao império de ORUM
Nas águas doces, nos rios, nas cachoeiras
ERI-IÊ-IÊ-IÔ mamãe Oxum
Trouxe a fecundidade Nanã Burukê
Com seus ERÊS - IBEJÊ - BEJÊ-ARÔ
Vem Omulu - ATOTO-OBULUAÊ
E vem Oxóssi OKE - OKE - OKÊ ARÔ
Oxóssi atirou sua flecha certeira
Com seu machado Xangô veio guerrear
Mãe Iansã rodopiou sua ventania
E balançou Ogum a espada no ar
Assim desceram à Terra os deuses africanos
Para através da natureza comandar
Força da terra, água, fogo e do vento
Com os orixás vamos todos SARAVÁ
A shining star illuminated Africa
Resplending the force of the orixás
A luminous trail led to space
The orixás to the universe SARAVÁ
Cradle of the black gods trembled in its depths
The Earth trembled and the sea shuddered
Driving the African divinities
To descend down to the IURUBÁ people
Our Father Oxalá at the head of the procession
Poured forth the light of Olorum, OBATALÁ
Made brilliant with his flourishing light
The sea of IÊ-IÊ-IÊ - YEMANJÁ
Oxumaré descended upon his rainbow
Linking the Earth to the empire of ORUM
In the fresh waters, in the rivers, in the waterfalls
ERI-IÊ-IÊ-IÔ mother Oxum
Nanã Burukê brought fertility
With her ERÊS - IBEJÊ - BEJÊ-ARÔ
Omulu comes - ATOTO-OBULUAÊ
And Oxóssi comes OKE - OKE - OKÊ ARÔ
Oxóssi shot his unerring arrow
With his axe Xangô came to wage war
Mother Iansã whirled her windstorm
And Ogum brandished his sword in the air
Thus the African gods descended to the Earth
To command through nature
Force of earth, water, fire and wind
With the orixás let us all SARAVÁ
refrain, sung twicerefrain, sung three or more times
Hymn 2 of 37.
