Entrei na mata pra passear

Sentei debaixo de um arvoredo

Vi um cipó tão lindo

Que cobriu meu ser

Perguntei quem era

Me respondeu

Sou o clarão da lua

O clarão do sol

O amanhecer do dia

Rogo ao Divino

E a Virgem Maria

Que abençoa este menino

I entered the woods to wander

I sat beneath a grove

I saw a vine so lovely

That covered my being

I asked who it was

It answered me

I am the glow of the moon

The glow of the sun

The dawning of the day

I pray to the Divine

And to the Virgin Mary

To bless this child
