CANCELA
THE GATE
- Standing
- Maraca
- José Mota
Deu meia noite
Quando a cancela bateu
Chamei seu Tranca Rua
Para vir me defender
De Ogum Begê
Recebeu sua espada
Para dos seus inimigos
Se defender
Do meu Pai Xangô
Recebeu todos os ensinos
Para explandir
Para todos seus irmãos
Debaixo do sol
Debaixo da lua
Mentiroso é aquele
Que diz que Tranca Rua
Não é filho de Deus
It struck midnight
When the gate banged
I called Seu Tranca Rua
To come and defend me
From Ogum Begê
He received his sword
To defend against his enemies
To defend himself
From my Father Xangô
He received all the teachings
To shine forth
For all his brothers
Beneath the sun
Beneath the moon
A liar is the one
Who says that Tranca Rua
Is not a child of God
