PROTECTING AGAINST EVIL SPIRITS

In the name of the Almighty God,

May the evil spirits stay away from me,

And may the good spirits protect me from their influence.

Wicked spirits that inspire bad thoughts,

Deceiving and lying spirits that delude the unwary,

And mocking spirits that abuse the naïve—

I repel you with all the strength in my soul

And close my ears to your temptations.

I pray that God has mercy on you.

Good spirits who have undertaken to guide me,

Give me the strength I need

To resist the influence of the lower spirits,

And the discernment not to become a victim of their designs.

Keep me safe from pride and presumption.

Turn my heart away from jealousy, hatred, wickedness,

And all feelings opposed to charity and love,

For these are the open doors to malevolent spirits.
