Sacred science

Of concentration

It is firmness in the mind

And love in the heart

First of all

Is to pay attention

To the rhythm of life

In the breathing

In great silence

Here in this moment

Let us close the doors

To all thoughts

After this is done

With a serene mind

Gentle virtues

Against all poisons

Mental poisons

Are our attachments

And the distressing emotions

That generate fear

Looking it in the face

Everything is resolved

With the mind awakened

The illusion dissolves

Impermanence of everything

Is such a serious matter

They are eternal causes

Of the great Mystery

Suffering of life

Is a great affliction

In the Noble Truth

Is its extinction

I meditate from the depths

Of my heart

For all beings

I feel compassion

That which remains

Is a great Emptiness

In the light of this Nothing

Is where the path lies

My God, give me strength

To pass this test

I seek refuge in the Buddha

In the Daime and in the Mestre
