A separate synthesis, not a Santo Daime branch
Umbandaime originated in Acre and later spread to Porto Velho, in the state of Rondônia, and to São Paulo, where it drew a following among people from varied social backgrounds. Its founder, Madrinha Maria Natalina, comes from a lineage of Umbanda leaders — she describes herself as the daughter of a Pai de Santo and granddaughter of a Mãe de Santo, and had led Umbanda ceremonies as a Mãe de Santo herself for more than twenty years before encountering Santo Daime. According to the movement's own account, she took part in Santo Daime rituals at a center in Acre called Céu de Maria, where her principal spiritual guide was Padrinho Sebastião, the disciple of Mestre Irineu who went on to found CEFLURIS in 1974.
Umbandaime should be understood as its own religious movement rather than a form of Santo Daime: it merges Umbanda's mediumship-centered practices — including consultation, spiritual cleansing, and communication with spirit guides — with Santo Daime ritual elements such as the daime sacrament and white ceremonial dress, alongside Kardecist spiritist influence reflected in the movement's veneration of Padrinho Sebastião as a spiritual presence during its ceremonies.
A reported message and a founding claim
The movement's own account holds that in early 2010, Madrinha Maria Natalina received a message during a Santo Daime miração from a spiritual figure she identifies as the Protectress of the Forests and Queen of the Sea, Nossa Senhora da Conceição/Iemanjá, warning that a day of reckoning was approaching. This is presented here as what the movement's founder reported experiencing, not as an established historical event.
