He came to the doctrine in 1961 after Mestre Irineu treated his gravely ill son, and stood with Padrinho Sebastião through the separation of 1974.

He developed the repertoire of the healing works, and his Caderno da Linha de Arrochim is the source of the Arrochim line as it is sung. Padrinho Sebastião handed him the key of the Colônia Cinco Mil church in 1983, and he held that community together after Sebastião left for Mapiá. His hinários include Linha de Arrochim and Chave de Ouro.
